KARACHI, Jan 21: The Pakistan Sailing Federation (PSAF) on Wednesday named a seven-member team for Sail The Gulf international regatta which is being held at Qatar from Feb 1 to 7.

The team was picked at the end of three day open trials held in the open sea.

The PSAF president Vice Admiral Saleem Ahmed Meenai has approved the team which leaves for Qatar at midnight on Jan 31.

Pakistan returned with gold and a silver medal in the last regatta. Ashfaq Iqbal will defend his gold medal in the Laser Standard. The silver was grabbed by Cdr. Mamoon Sadiq in Laser Radial.

The sailors are currently undergoing training in the camp under the supervision of PSAF secretary and camp commandant Lt. Cdr Zahid Rauf.
