2 SIs, four constables suspended

RAWALPINDI, Jan 29: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Nasir Khan Durrani has suspended two sub-inspectors (SIs) and four constables on charges of misconduct, being involved in immoral activities and having links with criminals.

The RPO spokesman said Habibur Rehman had lodged a complaint with the RPO saying that the personnel of Airport police station were not taking interest in arresting the culprits and recovering the abducted girl for some ulterior motive.

On the complaint, the RPO directed SP Investigation, Rawalpindi, to inquire into the matter.

After thorough probe, the inquiry officer reported that SI Nazim Abbas, investigating officer at the Airport police station, was not taking interest in recovering the abducted girl and arresting the culprits.

Upon this Nasir Khan Durrani suspended SI Nazim Abbas and directed the SSP Operation to take departmental action against him.

Similarly RPO Durrani also suspended SI Mohammad Farooq, the then Moharrir of Airport police station, for manipulating the daily diary of the Airport police station. According to details, SP Headquarters conducted an inquiry and found him guilty after which he was placed under suspension.

Nasir Khan Durrani was informed that constables Abdul Rehman and Ghulam Rasool of Waris Khan police station, Constable Tassadaq Husasain of Pirwadhai police station and Constable Abdul Ghaffar of Ganjmandi police station had links with criminals.

They were receiving monthly amount from the narcotics peddlers and prostitution dens and in return provided them shelter for running their illegal business. They were also accused of informing the criminals before the police raids. After an inquiry, the allegations were proved against them.
