KARACHI, Jan 30: The country’s first international exhibition and conference on broadcast, digital and satellite media technology, ‘Media Pakistan’, got under way at the Expo Centre on Friday afternoon.

The three-day event, organised by the Dawn, focuses on bringing to light the cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art equipment and production facilities which have provided an enabling environment to the media boom in Pakistan over the past decade, says a press statement. The media industry in Pakistan provides endless opportunities for industry members as well as the allied industries, including the vendors of equipment, infrastructure and service providers.

The exhibition offers an opportunity to visitors to take a closer look at the latest in media technology, with an array of manufacturers and production equipment providers in attendance.

It also provides a comprehensive insight into how technology and services gel together to provide the final output in the form of radio and television broadcasting.

The media community, TV channels, radio stations and print media, advertising agencies and production houses are all represented at the event. The exhibition has also brought the relevant service providers (rendering services and technology products to the media industry, including technology sector vendors, suppliers, distributors, importers, IT industry specialists, telecom experts, exporters and agents) together on a single platform, providing an opportunity for business networking and knowledge sharing.

The media show will continue on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 8pm at Hall Nos 2 and 3 of the Expo Centre.
