34 parliamentary secys appointed

LAHORE, Jan 30: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday appointed 34 MPAs as parliamentary secretaries.

Under the 60-40 power sharing formula between the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N), 13 of the slots went to the PPP and 22 to the PML-N. However, the latter offered one each office to the PML-F and the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), two more allies of the coalition, from its share.

The PPP members appointed as parliamentary secretaries are: Raja Tariq Kiani, Sardar Kamil Gujjar, Dr Akhtar Malik, Nishat Ahmad Khan Daha, Shahzad Saeed Cheema, Nosher Khan Lungrial, Shaukat Mahmood Basra, Mian Aslam, Engr Javed Akbar Dhillon, Nargis Faiz Malik, Saghira Islam, Azma Zahid Bukhari and Faiza Malik.

Those appointed from the PML-N’s quota are: Abdur Razzaq Dhillon, Karam Elahi Bandial, Abdul Hafeez K. Niazi, Zafar Iqbal Nagra, Iftikhar Ahmed Baloch, Col Ayub Gadhi, Nazia Raheel, Saeed Mughal, Ajasim Sharif, Rana Tajammul Hussain, Rana Mubashar Iqbal, Khurram Gulfam, Rana Arshad, Ahsan Raza, Amer Saeed Ansari, Sardar Mir Badshah Qaisrani, Sardar Sher Ali, Mumtaz Ali Jajja, Mian Asif Manzoor Mohal and Khalil Tahir Sindhu.

The MMA’s nominee is Ahmed Karim Qaswar Langrial, while the PML-F has yet to give the name of its MPA for the slot of parliamentary affairs secretary kept vacant for the purpose.
