QUETTA, Jan 31: The Hazara Democratic Party announced on Saturday that it would hold a multi-party conference in Quetta on Feb 8 to formulate a strategy against target killings and promote sectarian harmony.

Addressing a press conference, HDP’s information secretary Ahmed Ali Kohzad said that all political parties would be invited to the conference. A committee has been set up to contact leaders of different political parties and extend invitation to them, he added.

Mr Kohzad said his party had decided to register its protest against the assassination of HDP leader Hussain Ali Yousufi and other Hazara tribesmen at international forums, including the United Nations and European Union.

Criticising the government, Mr Kohzad said that six days had passed since the assassination of Mr Yousufi but police had not arrested the killers.

He said the HDP would also hold rallies in the city to press the government for the arrest of those behind the killing of Hazara tribesmen.
