PESHAWAR, Feb 7: A truck engaged in carrying supplies for Nato forces in Afghanistan was burnt and a crane was damaged when rockets fired from nearby farms hit them at a terminal on the Ring Road on Saturday.

According to witnesses, the assailants also deflated tyres of some trucks at the terminal.

Officials at the Bana Manai police station claimed that police reached the spot soon after the incident and an exchange of fire took place which forced the attackers to flee towards the Achar village.A police official said the militants attacked the terminal for the first time, adding they had earlier targeted terminals in the limits of Peshtakhara and Yakatut police stations.

A case has been registered against unknown terrorists.
