Man killed; girl kidnapped

TAXILA, Feb 12: A man was killed over old rivalry in Sarai Khola near Darbar Iqbalia in the jurisdiction of Taxila police station.

Police sources said some passersby spotted a body lying in the fields after which they informed the local police. On getting information a police party reached the spot and shifted the body to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Taxila.

Later the deceased was identified as Qasim Khan who had received four bullet injuries.

Hamid Khan, the father of the deceased, reported to the police that his family had old rivalry with Munawar Khan, Nazeer Ahmed, Anis Khan and Ghareeb Khan and accused them of killing his son. On his report, Taxila police registered a case against the nominated accused and started investigations.

In another incident, a teenage girl was kidnapped by three persons from Buddo village in the jurisdiction of Wah Cantonment police station on Wednesday. Mohammad Javaid told the police that Tazeem Akhtar, Naseem Akhtar and Mohammad Shahzad had allegedly kidnapped his daughter Saira Bano from his house.

Wah Cantonment police registered a case against the accused and started investigations.

Meanwhile, Wah Cantonment police arrested two women swindlers who were caught red-handed while stealing jewellery from a passenger.

Police sources said Fakhra Ahmed was traveling on POF welfare transport when two women, later identified as Samina and Zainab Bibi, tried to steal the gold jewellery which she was wearing.

When the woman voiced alarm, people present there overpowered the swindlers and later handed them over to the police.

A case has been registered against the accused and started further investigations.
