KARACHI, Feb 14: Three ships carrying containers and to load ethanol are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing at the wharves was active where eight ships were berthed as under: Union Bonita Thor Hawk, to unload and load general cargo, Kota Lambai, APL Bolboa and Hammurabi, to unload and load containers, Al-Kortobui, and Johar, with crude oil.

Three ships, Sun Fire, Union Bonita and Thor Hawk departed on Saturday, while Adriatic, Semeru, Arnis, Johar, Maratha Russ and Al-Kortoubi are due to sail out on Sunday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves showed an increase at 0.102m tons, comprising 34,675 tons of export cargo and 67,020 tons of import tonnage, respectively.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Chemroad Rose, to load ethanol, Bavaria Express, and Hanjin, Port Adelaide, with containers.

The ships due to arrive on Monday are: Caribbean Carrier, to load 17,500 tons of cement, Pegasus-7, with 3,000 tons of palm oil, APL Dalian, Mol Ability and Orinoco River, with containers.

KARACHI, Feb 14: Brisk shipping activity was observed at the port where three ships carrying containers, palm oil and diesel were berthed at QICT, MPT and Fotco oil terminal, respectively, on Saturday.

Meanwhile, two more ships with palm oil arrived at outer anchorage of port during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was managed at the port at 60 per cent on Friday where a total of seven ships occupied berths to load, unload containers, cement, wheat, palm oil and diesel, respectively, during the report period.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 63,082 tons comprising 40,857 tons imports and 22,225 tons of exports, inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1,578 containers (Teus) was handled at the port.

Three ships sailed out to sea during last 24 hours.
