LAHORE, Feb 19: Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal says the government wants to refine and polish the local body system rather than abolishing it altogether.

“The government is in full support of the LG system, and there is no truth in reports that it will be wrapped up,” said the speaker who was chief guest at the concluding session of an annual convention and board of governors meeting of the Local Councils Association of Punjab on Thursday.—Staff Reporter
