LTTE aircraft bomb Colombo

COLOMBO, Feb 20: Forty-two people were injured, two of them seriously, when two aircraft of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) attacked the Sri Lankan capital on Friday night.

“Both planes were shot down by our anti-aircraft batteries,” a spokesman for the Lankan air force said. The LTTE aircraft bombed the Colombo airport and a building housing the revenue office.—Our Correspondent
