KARACHI, Feb 25: There was a walkover galore in the Karachi Board Inter-collegiate Girls Badminton Championship as nine out of 10 teams failed to turn up at the Karachi College for Women for their scheduled fixtures on Wednesday.

“Bahria College Karsaz was the only team that reported on the second day only to get a walkover against St Joseph’s College,” organising secretary, Nargis Hasan said.

Eight other teams that failed to reach and were subsequently scratched were Bahria College Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Trinity College, Government College for Women Nazimabad, Korangi No 6 College, Sir Adamjee College, Al Noor College, Commecs College and Government Degree College Gulshan-i-Iqbal.

The situation was more or less similar on the opening day on Tuesday when nine teams got the wrath for failing to report.

Hayatul Islam College was awarded a walkover against KBVCA Model School.

Eight other outfits that didn’t turn up and scratched include NCR College, Korangi No 4 College, Riaz Girls College, Khatoon-i-Pakistan College, Commerce and Economics College, Khurshid Girls College, IBE College and Lyari Degree College.

In the only match played the other day DHA Phase VII College outplayed Rana Liaquat College 2-0.
