KARACHI, Feb 25: Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ijaz Butt on Wednesday announced Rs one million cash award for captain Younis Khan who scored a magnificent match-saving triple century against Sri Lanka in the first Test on Tuesday at the National Stadium.

Younis made 313 and could not break Brian Lara’s world record of 400 not out to the disappointment of his fans present at the National Stadium when he was bowled by Dilhara Fernando.

A shield was given to Younis at the National Stadium for becoming the third Pakistani batsman after Hanif Mohammad (337) and Inzamam-ul-Haq (329) to score a triple hundred in Tests.—APP
