LARKANA, Sept 9: While distributing sewing machines among widows and poor women here on Thursday, the Speaker of Sindh Assembly, Nisar Khuhro, said that government has planned to establish sewing centres at union council level in line with the vision of Benazir Bhutto to empower them.
It would strengthen women socially and economically which was her (Benazir Bhutto's) vision. He said 20 sewing machines would be distributed in each union council, Mr Khuhro added.He said the present government was allotting 25 acres of government land to each peasant woman along with free fertiliser and seed.
He said government was paying attention to female education and girl students were being given scholarship.
