PESHAWAR, Nov 2: The Peshawar High Court on Tuesday directed the management of a local chain of private schools to produce the admission form of a seventh grade student who was expelled on the ground of contracting marriage.

A two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Ejza Afzal Khan and Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel also directed the provincial education department to furnish written comments within a week in reply to the writ petition field by the expelled student, Gherat Khan.

The petitioner was expelled from Peshawar Model School, a known chain of educational institutions here. The respondents in the petition are the board of governors of Peshawar Model School, principal of Peshawar Model School, Boys III Branch and the provincial education department.

Advocate Abdul Rauf Rohaila appeared for the school management and contended that under the rules of the school a student could not marry while studying there. He contended that even in the admission form that condition was given.

The court directed him to produce the said form. The bench observed that even in last hearing that directive was issued, but the said form had not been produced.

The bench also inquired from the additional advocate general, Fazlur Rehman Khan, why the comments had not been filed. The AAG sought some time for filing the comments.

Advocate Muhammad Essa Khan appeared for the petitioner and contended that the precious time of the petitioner had been wasted due to this illegal act of the respondents.
