GHALANAI, Nov 15: Militants blew up another government school and house of a volunteer of local peace committee in Mohmand tribal region on Monday, sources said. They said that militants planted explosives at the government primary school in Lakkaro area of tehsil Safi in the small hours of Monday.

The explosives went off with a bang and destroyed the school.

The number of destroyed schools in the region has reached to 67.

Militants also planted an explosive device at the house of peace committee volunteer Ali Rehman and detonated it. The house was destroyed. However, no casualty was reported. Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

Security forces have launched search operation in Kareer, Aman Kot and Markhanai areas of tehsil Safi. The ground forces, backed by helicopter gunships and artillery, have been targeting militant positions.

Local residents said they saw US drone flying at low altitude over different areas of Khwaizai Baizai teshil.

KARAK: A police checkpost was partially damaged in a blast here on Sunday night. However, no loss of life was reported.

Unidentified persons planted explosives near Hameedan checkpost. The explosives went off with a big bang and partially damaged the checkpost.
