KARACHI: Chief Justice Sindh High Court Sarmad Jalal Osmany on Tuesday constituted a three-member judges’ bench to hear a petition challenging the holding of offices of the president of Pakistan and co-chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party by Asif Ali Zardari.
The bench, comprising Justice Musheer Alam, Justice Gulzar and Justice Maqbool Baqir, is scheduled to start the hearing from Wednesday.
The petition was filed by Advocate Rasheed Akhund, who prayed to the court to direct the president to resign from the party’s co-chairmanship as he could not hold two offices under the Constitution.
