KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) Senator Faisal Raza Abidi said that his security guard was set on fire along with the guard's son near Sohrab Goth area of Karachi on Friday.

According to sources, the guard and his son, who received burn injuries, were first shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital from where they were later taken to Agha Khan Hospital.

Abidi said that his police guard Naeem and his five-year-old son were travelling on a motor-bike when unidentified assailants set them on fire.

"I receive threats regularly on my cell phone and through emails and facebook messages but it is a cowardly act to target a five-year innocent son of a guard,” said Abidi.

Both the injured are said to be critical condition.
