KARACHI: Cultural shows were held and processions taken out across the city to mark the Sindh Culture Day on Saturday, which was declared a holiday in the province by the Sindh government.

The activities had begun here on Friday evening when workers and supporters of several parties brought out rallies from different parts of city, converging at the Karachi Press Club.

The Sindh National Party held a colourful musical programme at the Seaview beach, where Sindhi artistes performed their traditional songs, enthralling the audience.

Speeches were also made by SNP leaders pledging to preserve the Sindhi culture and renewed their “resolve to protect the land of the Sindhis”.

Rallies were also taken out by the Pakistan People’s Party, Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz and other nationalist parties to highlight the common culture of the province.

A massive traffic jam was witnessed on Friday night as well as on Saturday.
