ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Monday that Pakistan was not seeking a permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council.

Speaking in the National Assembly, Qureshi said Pakistan was in favour of the expansion of the UNSC. However, he said that a broad international consensus was needed for the restructuring of the Security Council.

Qureshi said that there were 842 Pakistani prisoners in Indian jails and special efforts were being made for their release.
