ISLAMABAD, Dec 22: The JUI-F leadership decided on Wednesday not to be part of any attempt to topple the Balochistan government.

A meeting of the Central Working Committee of JUI-F, presided over by Maulana Fazlur Rehman, endorsed the party's decision to quit the federal government in protest against the sacking of its minister Azam Khan Swati, but decided to continue to be in the PPP-led coalition government in Gilgit-Baltistan.

According to sources, the CWC rejected a proposal to dislodge the Balochistan government with the help of PML-Q and independents. The proposal was opposed by the party's parliamentary group in the provincial assembly.

The sources said that the CWC had empowered the party's provincial chapter and MPAs to take whatever decision they felt appropriate on the matter. The outlines of major decisions taken by the CWC were announced by Maulana Fazl during a brief interaction with journalists.
