PESHAWAR, Dec 27: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company has announced five to eight hours loadshedding in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A Pesco statement issued here on Monday said that the decrease in water level in dams had adversely affected the hydel power generation forcing the power company to carryout load management in the province. Pesco said it had been allotted 640MW quota for loadshedding and hence five to eight hours loadshedding would be carried out on all 11KV feeders emanating from different grid stations in the province.

Meanwhile, the Pesco chief executive sought the cooperation of customers and appealed to them to reduce wastage of power so that the duration of the load management could be minimised.

“Sometimes the distribution system is badly overloaded and in such situation avoiding the damage of system NPCC/RCC had to carry out forced loadshedding in addition to the routine load management, which cannot be anticipated,” he said.

The customers, he said, could get information regarding their load management schedule and its timing from their respective sub-division, concerned grid station or central complaint cell on telephone No.091-9212010, 091-9212037 or in charge regional control center on telephone No.091-2040706.

In view of the crisis, Pesco appealed to its honorable customers to extend their cooperation in the larger national interest and immediately stop unnecessary and illegal use of electricity, the chief executive said.
