LAHORE: PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif says his party's support for the democratic process in the country must not be construed as intention to back a corrupt government.

"We will not be a party to any such move. The present governments' real support are those who have been standing shoulder to shoulder with it for the last three years and raising the slogan of revolution," Nawaz Sharif said in his address Thursday at a party workers convention on the 104th Founding Day of the PML.

"The purpose of creating Pakistan was definitely not to be a slave of the establishment, the nation can no longer afford any more martial laws.

"Time has come to take to task those who had been violating the law and Constitution, leading the country to present state of chaos and problems. The Constitution was abrogated four times. Our commitment for the cause of Pakistan is based on honesty.

"Today Pakistan has to be saved which requires a Tehreek-e-Pakistan like commitment and dedication," the PML-N Chief stressed.

On problems of Balochistan province, he said it seems as if Balochistan is out of agenda of the government. He demanded a committee be set up comprising of lawmakers which will resolve the issues facing Balochistan on priority.

Nawaz Sharif said that prices of electricity, petroleum were being raised every month, which was further burdening the masses who were already facing severe hardships due to continued skyrocketing inflation, unemployment.
