LAHORE, Jan 8: Pakistan People’s Party Punjab president Imtiaz Safdar Warraich has said it is better if the PML-N parts ways with his party as its (PPP) ministers have been complaining since long that they are powerless.

Talking to reporters at a condolence reference for slain governor Salmaan Taseer at the residence of Ms Samia Ghurki, the PPP Lahore chapter president, here on Saturday, Warraich said the PPP was not keen to stick to the Punjab government. “Our leadership knows the sentiments of the party workers for the PML-N government,” he said.

Flanked by Samiullah Khan, Usman Malik, Akbar Khan, Tahir Khalil, Faiza Malik and Sajida Mir, Warraich said the PPP leadership would soon take a decision on the ‘ultimatum’ given by the PML-N.

He said the PPP had no qualms about sitting on the opposition benches in Punjab as it had played role of opposition effectively in 2002 assembly.

He further said the Muttahida Qaumi Movement had returned to the treasury benches in the National Assembly and JUI-F would also rejoin the government.

Senior Minister Raja Riaz said in the event of a break-up of the coalition in Punjab, “turncoats” would be the major beneficiaries. He said the PML-N should not pave the way for the “politics of Changa Manga”.
