ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) Dr. Muhammad Aslam Tahir has stressed the need to conduct workshops, research studies, joint projects and sharing knowledge and expertise in the areas of water resources and its effective and efficient use.

He was talking to Dr. Murad Jabay Bino, Executive Director, Inter-Islamic Network on Water Resources Development and Management (INWRDAM), who called on him here on Saturday.

Dr Bino assured that all possible assistance will be extended to PCRWR to strengthen the efforts to promote greater collaboration amongst the countries of the Ummah including Pakistan to face the challenges of water security and sustainable management of water resources for a better future.

Chairman, PCRWR expressed that Pakistan is represented through PCRWR in the activities undertaken by INWRDAM.

INWRDAM was established in 1987 by the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) to act as a think tank for its members including Pakistan and provides guidelines on policy, applied research and conducts dialogues on water Resources Development and Management.

Later the Executive Director visited Ground Water Management Cell of PCRWR.
