QUETTA, Feb 6: A Frontier Corps man was killed when a landmine exploded in Pir Koh area of Dera Bugti district on Sunday. Levies Force sources said the landmine planted by unidentified assailants went off when the FC man, identified as Sabtain, stepped on it. He died on the spot.

OGDC CONVOY: A convoy of the Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC) narrowly escaped a bomb attack in Sohbatpur area of Jaffarabad district on Sunday, police sources said.

The bomb had been placed on the road, apparently to blow up the convoy. However, it went when OGDC vehicles going to the Uch gas field had passed.

The sources said that an exchange of fire took place in the area between security personnel and armed men.

A couple of days ago, two employees of the OGDC were killed and three others injured when armed men opened fire on their convoy.
