GHALANAI/MINGORA, Feb 18: A security man was killed and three others were wounded in militant attack on a security checkpost in Mohmand tribal region on Friday.

The militants fired mortar shells on the security post in Ghanam Shah, tehsil Baizai along the Pak-Afghan border killing a soldier and injuring four others. The injured soldiers were shifted to Peshawar.

Meanwhile, body of about 35-year-old woman was found in Tarkai Kandao area of Prang Ghar. The motive behind the killing could not be ascertained so far. The local administration has started investigation. In Swat, the security forces arrested a 16-year-old would-be suicide bomber and recovered a suicide vest from his possession in the Chota Kalam area of the district on Friday.

Sources said that the security forces raided the area after receiving information from the activists of local peace committee that the younger brother of a detained militant commander, Amjad, was present at his house.

The security forces accompanied by peace committee volunteers raided the place and arrested the teenager. The alleged suicide bomber was identified as Sher Mohammad. The security forces also recovered a suicide vest from the house. The accused was later shifted to some undisclosed location for interrogation.
