ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Mulim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lost its representation from Senate in the Parliamentary committee for the Election Commission, as Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) outnumbered them in the Senate, DawnNews reported.

JUI-F had created problems for PML-N which was already in battle against the ruling Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP), by going in to the opposition.

According to parliamentary sources, the Speaker National Assembly, Dr. Fehmida Mirza was to form a committee for the formation of the Election Commission, in which eight members would be from NA and four from the Senate, and half of the members would from opposition from both houses.

Dr. Mirza had already sought nominees from parliamentary leaders, however by going into opposition JUI-F have postponed the process once again, as they have outnumbered the N-league in the Senate by one member.

JUI-F now has eight seats and PML-N has seven in the Senate, so the PC will be represented by JUI-F rather than Raja Zafar-ul-Haq of the N-league.
