WANA, Feb 22: Two khasadars were killed and as many received injuries in an attack by unidentified men here on Sunday night.

Assistant Political Agent Shoeb Khan said that unidentified armed men attacked the khasadars guarding a facility of Frontier Works Organisation.

Two security men died on the spot while two others received injuries, he added. The injured khasadars were shifted to agency headquarters hospital in Wana. According to doctors, the injured are in critical condition.

In another incident, two rockets were fired at FC fort in the town, however, no loss of life was reported.

Mr Khan said that miscreants wanted to create lawlessness in the area. He said under the peace agreement, signed in 2007, it was the responsibility of local tribesmen to stop such attacks in South Waziristan.

Meanwhile, two suspects were arrested and arms were recovered from their possession during search at Zalampul point near Bajaur-Dir border on Tuesday.

Officials said that the Bajaur political administration deployed Levies personnel to block the main Bajaur-Dir Road at Zalampul after receiving some information.
