LAHORE: In a bid to express their unconditional support to the provincial government, the Unification Bloc, after parting ways with the Pakistan Muslim League - Quaid (PML-Q), on Friday announced that the bloc would not accept any ministries, DawnNews reported. Its members also resigned from 11 standing committees of the Punjab cabinet.

The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) declared the decision as a ‘victory of principled politics’.

Speaking to media representatives after a meeting, Dr Tahir Ali Javed of the Unification Bloc said that they had decided to support Sharif brothers unconditionally through a resolution.

Dr Javed said that their critics should not forget that even an opposition leader can carry a ministry in Balochistan, but no one seemed to object to that.

On the other hand, Finance Minister Punjab Zulfiqar Ali Khosa said although the PML-N wanted the Unification Bloc to help them share the responsibilities of governing the province but appreciated the decision and hailed it as a ‘victory of principled politics’.
