ISLAMABAD: Law Minister Babar Awan on Tuesday said those who wanted early elections should partake in the Senate and local bodies' elections, DawnNews reported.

Speaking to media representatives after meeting a Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) delegation at his residence, Awan said the government was making amendments to election laws in order to make the process transparent.

Awan said the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was being reconstituted in accordance with the 18th Amendment.

He further said that the PPP-led government had introduced a new political culture in the country and that there were no political prisoners in Pakistan.
