LAHORE, March 22: Jamaat-i-Islami chief Syed Munawar Hasan on Tuesday condemned desecration of the Holy Quran by an American pastor in Florida church and announced a countrywide protest for Friday.

In a statement he appealed to the people to join the protest and condemn the incident in the strongest terms. He also underscored the need for unity among Muslims and called for an emergent OIC meeting to work out a unified and strong line of action.

Protest rallies should be taken out after Friday prayers against what he said western religious terrorism.
