ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office on Thursday felicitated Afghanistan over the beginning of the takeover of security in the country’s certain areas by Afghan forces from the International Security Assistance Force (Isaf), DawnNews reported.

The Foreign Office in its message stated that Pakistan would continue to assist Afghanistan in attaining stability in order to ensure peace and progress in the region.

The message further stated that Pakistan wanted enduring peace, progress and development in Afghanistan.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai said Tuesday that Afghan forces would take over security in areas including the Helmand capital from Nato this summer, launching a transition as foreign troops plan an exit by the end of 2014.

PAKISTAN-INDIA TALKS
Foreign office spokesperson Tehmina Janjua told the media persons that the Pak-India dialogue will be held in New Delhi on March 28 and 29 while the trade secretaries of the two countries will meet in April.

Janjua stressed that the dialogue should be held with an open mind and Pakistan wanted peace with its neighbours.

She told the media that India had assured security for the Pakistan cricket team during their semi-final match.
