Finance ministry releases withheld grant for HEC

ISLAMABAD: The Finance Ministry has released a grant worth Rs 1.7 billion on Saturday for the Higher Education Commission (HEC), DawnNews reported.

In a letter written to the HEC, finance ministry stated that the funds could now be collected.

The grant which was withheld following the decision to dissolve the HEC was released after Senator Raza Rabbani's Friday announcement to form a new body (Commission for Standard Higher Education) to replace HEC.
