LAHORE: Sri Lanka overcame a hapless Nepal side in the second match of the SAARC Baseball Cup here on Wednesday.

The Lankans scored a 20-0 win to open their account in the points table of the round-robin league-based tournament at Lahore’s Punjab Stadium.

Both teams failed to score in their first two innings but Sri Lankan batters made four scores in the third innings as Perera, Kasthurimugali, Hapuarachi and Karunarathne made one score each.

In the fourth innings Lankan batters made three scores through Mahathanthka, Hapuarachi and Mannautum and added two more scores in the fifth innings through Rathnayake and Abcysooriya.

The sixth innings from Sri Lanka saw a mauling of Nepal with 11 scores with Mahathanthka, Perera and Mannautum notching up three scores each.

The match was done with in the sixth innings, as were awarded the win after leading with 15 points, as per BFA rules.

Sri Lankan pitchers were so accurate that they did not allow batters from Nepal to make any score in the match.
