RAWALPINDI, April 19: A newly-married female student of the University of Arid Agriculture was abducted last week, police said on Tuesday.

MA, the husband of the victim – an MSc student – dropped her at the university last Thursday for attending an evening class. He came back at 7:30pm to pick her up. But after an hour`s wait, the wife did not come out of the university.

“I sent a message on her cellphone but she didn`t respond. But after sometime she called and said she was going home in a taxi. But she didn`t return,” the husband said.

After searching for his wife on his own for five days, the husband finally sought the police`s help on Tuesday and lodged an FIR.

He suspected that his wife was abducted by her classmate, who belonged to D G Khan. Police said the missing student was last seen with the classmate in the university.

Meanwhile a 16-year-old girl, who had taken poisonous pills, was brought to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital on Tuesday. Doctors said Gul Zarina, a resident of Doltala village near Gujar Khan, was in critical condition.
