FAISALABAD, April 22: Four robbers abducted the driver of a textile mill and took away fabric worth of Rs20 million here on Friday.

This is the third such incident in the district in April alone.

Nishat Mills driver Habib was on his way to Karachi when four robbers stopped him near Drumawala Mor, Khurianwala. They kidnapped the driver and took him to a deserted place. Later, they freed the driver and took away the fabric.

The mill administration informed the police, but no case had been registered till the filing of this report at 11pm. However, police did not confirm the incident.

About 400 bags of yarn worth of Rs8.5 million were looted at the Drumawala Mor a couple of days ago. These yarn bags were owned by Niagra Textile Mills.

Similarly, robbers took away yarn worth of Rs15 million from a storehouse of the JK Mills situated on Samundri Road. A security guard was also killed during the robbery. Police later said robbers had been arrested and looted yarn seized.

COUPLE KILLED: A couple was hit to death and their minor daughter injured by a rickshaw on Jhumra Road on Friday.

Liaquat and his wife Nasira died at the scene after the accident and their two-year old daughter was shifted to the hospital, where she was said to be in a critical condition.

The rickshaw driver fled.

SHOT DEAD: A security guard of a construction company was shot dead by two bandits in Sahinwala police precincts on Friday.

The company has been working near Paharang and the guard was robbed and shot dead for putting up resistance during the robbery.
