WHAT made him stand out? Was it his wit and mimicry or his slapstick comedy? What was so different about this man that brought tears to every person’s eyes who heard about his death? Why we all went into shock? He was just like other artists, another comedian, another writer. What made him more human was his God-fearing nature and human-loving personality A complete family man, throughout his career we never heard anything demeaning his name or his profession. He showed to people with his decency and strength of character that entertainment world can survive with decency, without vulgarity. This is something we do not see, especially in recent wave of comedy circles where we only see sexually explicit language, down-the-belt dialogues, cheap and shallow overacting and, of course, a lot of noise. He set a standard in such a way that people always enjoyed his shows; his presence would get the whole family glued to TV screen. I saw so many old faces on screen soon after the news of his death spread out. And I was shocked to see some names from past who have been part of Moin Akhtar’s team but are not seen on screen these days. They were not only crying for their mentor but they were crying for a human being who was like umbrella to shelter and protect them from extremes.

I saw Lehri, one big name from the entertainment world, share with the media with tears running down his cheeks that this great person was not only looking after him but he was running his house also.

Moin Akhtar knew what he wanted in life and set his priorities. Back then, the majority of people who were part of this entertainment industry were from humble backgrounds. It is a shame that people who spend their lives bringing laughter and smiles to thousands are led to live extremely miserable lives. Lehri is one story. There are unlimited artists who have died unknown. This world of glitz and glamour never appreciate once the person is down the line with wrinkled face and quivering hands. Moin Akhtar knew this treacherous side of the entertainment world. Fortunately, he was financially stable and completely at his own.

There were thousands of people from all walks of life gathered to pay their last tribute to the real legend of Pakistan.

They all came with tears in their eyes and heart full of sorrow for the true legend of Pakistan. This human side of Moin Akhtar is worth thousand words. Without airs, without arrogance; a person down-to-earth and full of kindness is Moin Akhtar.

Moin Akhtar! We are so proud to have had you in our lives. We love you and will surely miss you.
