KHAIRPUR, May 19: A committee of growers and officials of irrigation and revenue departments will be constituted to look into water shortage at the tail-end of Veeho wah, Pandhro wah, Ali Nawaz wah and Faiz Ganj wah.

The formation of the committee was decided by the DCO Khairpur in a meeting held with the officials of Irrigation and Revenue departments and affected growers of Pakka Chang on Wednesday over water shortage complaints.

The meeting further decided patrolling of Rangers personnel for assured supply of irrigation water to tail-end.

Later, the DCO visited the hunger striking growers who called off their protest after receiving assurance of regular water supply.

Growers complained that the irrigation officials provide water to influential waderas at canal heads.
