ISLAMABAD: Parliamentarians from Pakistan and Afghanistan will begin a two-day dialogue in Kabul on Monday on issues impacting the relationship between the two countries.

The dialogue, to be attended by 18 members of Pakistan's National Assembly and Senate, will focus on counter-terrorism strategies of the two countries. The meeting is being facilitated by a foreign-funded civil society organisation, the Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (Pildat), according to an announcement here on Sunday.

Four joint workshops of Pakistani and Afghan parliamentarians have already been facilitated by Pildat since 2008.

The objective of the initiative has been to help parliaments of the two countries to develop a relationship which is based on greater interaction and dialogue on bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.

Deputy Chairman of the Senator Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali and Deputy Speaker National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi are jointly heading the Pakistani delegation.
