ISLAMABAD, June 15: Works of 13 Pakistani artists exhibited in Singapore last month were not just appreciated and bought by visitors, but also left a soft imprint of Pakistan on their minds.

Art lovers there bought 56 of the 75 works put on display, according to artist and social activist Jimmy Engineer.

“I strongly believe that the creative work of our artists when exhibited in foreign capitals can counter the negative image of Pakistan much better than other methods,” he told this agency on return from the exhibition.

Titled 'Artistic Fusions from Pakistan' the exhibition was organised by Lahore's private Revivers Galleria in collaboration with the Pakistan High Commission in Singapore.

Jimmy said the exhibition was a great success in many ways and provided a chance to project true image of the country.

Art lovers kept visiting the exhibition daily in good number and invariably said they got a good view of the moderate and tolerant face of Pakistan there.

Selected works of Iqbal Hussain, Jimmy Engineer, Mashkoor Raza, Mansur Rahi, Hajra Mansur, Mussarat Arif, Salman Farooqi, Tariq Javed, A.Q. Arif, A.S. Rind, Abrar Ahmad, Amjad Butt and Maham Gull were displayed at the exhibition. — APP
