ISLAMABAD: The Inquiry Committee of Anti-Doping Organization of Pakistan on Wednesday imposed a four-month suspension on athlete Muhammad Anwar after he tested positive for a banned substance during the 43rd National Athletics Championship held recently in Lahore.

A three-member committee, comprising Deputy Director Army Sports Directorate Col. Qaiser Mustafa (Chairman), Director E&C Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Syed Habib Shah (member) and SMO Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Hospital Rawalpindi Dr. Masood Parvez (member), was constituted to hear Anwar’s case.

The committee heard Anwar in person and after analyzing all the aspects, reached a unanimous decision that the athlete was guilty of taking the prohibited substance.

Anwar was also stripped of the medal he won at the Championship in the high-jump event.
