KARACHI: The restoration of commissionerate system would provide immediate relief to the people. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, here on Sunday.

He was talking to the provincial chief of the Awami National Party (ANP), Shahi Syed, who called on him at the CM House.

Shahi Syed felicitated Qaim Ali Shah on the restoration of the commissionerate system in Sindh, repeal of police order 2002 and amendment to the local government ordinance.

He also assured the chief minister of his full cooperation in this regard.

Shahi Syed also lauded the steps taken by the Sindh government for the maintenance of law and order in the metropolis.

He said that the ANP would play its role towards the maintenance of a lasting peace in Karachi.

Qaim Ali Shah said on the occasion that the restoration of the commissionerate system would provide    prompt relief to the people.

He stated the PPP government has taken the step in accordance with the aspirations of the people and for their betterment.

This would usher in a new era of development and prosperity in the province, he added.

Qaim Ali Shah said that Karachi is a mini-Pakistan and it is the city of all of us and we have to take concerted efforts for its peace, development and prosperity.

He made it clear that those who are bent upon marring peace of this city, would not be spared and that the law will take its course without any distinction.

Adviser to CM Sindh, Rashid Rabbani, and Special Assistant, Waqar Medhi, were also present during the meeting.
