LAHORE, July 10: The second spell of monsoon rains started waning on Sunday, and the Met office expected dry weather in most parts of the country on Monday.

The Met office said that the rain causing trough of westerly wave over Kashmir and adjoining areas moved out and the moist current from the Arabian Sea somewhat weakened.

It remained partly cloudy but muggy in Lahore because of humidity, and the similar weather was reported from other cities of the province but some places in the upper parts of the country did receive rain.

Kakul received 42mm of rain, Risalpur 33mm, Saidu Sharif 17mm, Peshawar Airport 10mm, Islamabad Airport 6mm, Barkhan 4mm, Dir, Islamabad Zero Point, Muzaffarabad, Jhelum and Peshawar City 2mm each, Noorpur Thal, Kotli 1mm each, and Skardu, Mangla and Sahiwal trace (each).

The Met office said that it will remain partly cloudy with chances of thunderstorm/rain in Lahore in on Monday.

Scattered thunderstorm/rain was expected over Multan, Bahawalpur and DG Khan Divisions. Isolated thunderstorm/rain was expected over Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal divisions and Kashmir along with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
