KARACHI: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority has allowed the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) to raise its tariff by Rs 0.24 per unit on Monday.

KESC requested the increase in tariff on basis of fuel adjustment charges.

During the Nepra hearing in Islamabad, KESC management said there is a shortage in gas supply due to which furnace oil is being used to generate the required electricity, which has affected the cost.

This increase is only for the customers of KESC where as the hearing for other distribution companies will be held next week.
