LAKKI MARWAT, July 17: The infuriated villagers killed an alleged robber when he along with two accomplices barged into a house in Langerkhel Hindal village here on late Saturday night.

Official sources told this scribe on Sunday that three armed bandits barged into the house of Obaidullah Jan to rob the family. “Two robbers started breaking the locks of boxes in a room while their third accomplice was standing in the veranda when the inmates of the house awoke,” sources said.

They said that two robbers managed to flee while their third accomplice, armed with a Kalashnikov, was overpowered by Obaidullah along with the looted items.

The robber caught by the owner of the house was identified as Jamil Khan, they added. “One of the fleeing bandits also fired at the inmates but luckily no one was hurt,” sources said.

They said that more than 100 villagers gathered in the house when they heard firing and noise. The caught bandit was beaten to death by the infuriated villagers, sources said.

They said that heavy contingent of police reached the spot and took the body, stolen items and Kalashnikov rifle of the killed robber into possession.
