ISLAMABAD: The judicial commission inquiring into the murder of journalist Saleem Shahzad could not get the records of his mobile phones, e-mails and laptop on Tuesday.

At its meeting presided over by Justice Saqib Nisar, the commission recorded the statements of journalist Hamid Mir and Zafar Sheikh, a friend of the slain journalist.

Briefing reporters after the meeting, Pervaiz Shaukat, president of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists and a member of the commission, said: “We have been told that search for Saleem Shahzad’s laptop and mobile phone is under way.”—A Reporter
