LAHORE, July 26: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has assured the Pakistan People’s Party Punjab legislators that he will release development funds to PML-N MNAs if the Punjab government reciprocates.

The prime minister listened to the grievances of PPP MPAs at a meeting at the Governor’s House on Tuesday. MPAs informed the prime minister that the Punjab government had frozen their development funds. They also asked him to increase the Baitul Maal budget. Raja Riaz, Ashraf Sohna and Maj Zulfikar Gondal (retired) made speeches.

MPA Sajida Mir told Dawn that PM Gilani had assured them that he would also make the release of PML-N funds conditional to that of them. She said the prime minister said President Zardari would visit Lahore next month and listen to their concerns. — Staff Reporter
