KARACHI, Aug 5: Discarded Pakistan leg-spinner Danish Kaneria claimed three wickets for Royal CC on Friday in his first competitive match for sometime but still finished on the losing side as Khalid Latif guided Medicam CC to a four-wicket win in the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ramazan T20 cricket tournament.
Khalid stole the show with a superb 85 not out as Medicam CC reached their target of 143 in the 18th over. The opening batsman slammed nine fours and four sixes in his 48-ball knock in the Group B’ match at the AKG Ground.
Mohammad Waqas Ahmed scored 35 (24 balls, two boundaries) and involved in a match-winning partnership of 98 with Man-of-the-Match Khalid.
Kaneria finished with three for 37 and slow left-armer Azam Hussain took 2-19.
Earlier, Khalid also excelled in the field with three catches as Royal CC were all out for 142. Skipper Hasan Raza (39 off 32 balls, three fours and one six) and Mirza Adnan Baig (34) put on 53 for the third wicket.
Off-spinner Irfanuddin claimed three for 24 and slow left-armer Sohaib Ahmed chipped in with two for 32.
