Gilgit-Baltistan is the northern-most province within Pakistan. It covers an area of 72,971 km² and is highly mountainous. It has an estimated population approaching 1,000,000. Its administrative center is the city of Gilgit (population 216,760). The territory became a single administrative unit in 1970 under the name Northern Areas and was formed by the amalgamation of the Gilgit Agency, the Baltistan District of the Ladakh Wazarat, and the states of Hunza and Nagar. - Photos by Uzair Khan

Pakistan is one of the most beautiful countries of the world. If in future some good government promote tourism as an industry, Pakistan can make its economy much better. Tourism industry can be more beneficial and even can become backbone of economy, it'll also help to eradicate poverty in northern regions.

Beautiful photography. What ever append to the Hindu and Buddhist civilizations and their historical sites is that area? I feel that it should be included in the history of that area or else you could be called a revisionist of history. Looking forward for more photographs. Keep up the good work.

I have been craving to see this land since ages but have not found opportunity but in my inner heart I am convinced that in my life time I would be able to see this beautiful land. Pray for my early visit to this beauteous place as I feel incomplete without seeing these heavens on earth...

Beautifully shot Uzair, I have been to Karimabad twice, but never got around the Baltit fort, instead went to the Altit fort and that was almost 18 years ago. Need to scan an put my pictures on the net.
