ISLAMABAD: Zafar Qureshi, additional director general of the Federal Investigation Agency, who was recently reinstated on the directives of the Supreme Court, took charge of his office on Thursday.

“He has moved to his office after receiving a call from the FIA director general,” sources said.

They said Mr Qureshi would investigate all cases he handled before his removal, including the National Insurance Corporation (NICL) scam.

The court issued orders for his reinstatement on Monday and the government has implemented the verdict.

He had been removed on April 18 allegedly on PML-Q’s demand whose leaders were being investigated by Mr Qureshi.

He had been tasked to investigate the NICL scandal on the directives of the Supreme Court.
